Arrange folders on Desktop

Drag and Drop them where you want them - or - right-click on the Desktop and choose "Arrange Icons By." Choose the option you like best.

Viewing contents of folders

When you open a folder, it can display the contents in different ways. To change, or make viewing easier, click "View" and choose an option. Close the folder and reopen it. From now on that is the view you will see in that folder. I prefer a list of the contents rather than a bunch of icons.

Did you know............?

You can Drag and Drop a folder into another folder. For instance, if you have too many folders on your Desktop you could create a new folder named "Misc" and Drag and Drop some folders into it.

You can Drag and Drop individual contents of a folder into another folder. Open a folder. Minimize it so you can see other folders on your Desktop. Drag stuff out of it and onto the icon of another folder.

If you want to see something on your Desktop behind an open folder make sure the folder is minimized then Drag it out of the way. You drag minimized folders, and even programs, by grabbing them by the blue bar across the top.
